offers a wealth of experience in the lettings industry and have come together to supply, maintain and store members’ sourced information on tenants, giving letting agencies, landlords and local authorities the opportunity to identify their next tenant with confidence.TenantID offers a secure environment registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) under the Data Protection Act (DPA).
TenantID will allowyou to take further control of your portfolio of tenants, increase business efficiencies and reduce risk. We believe that if everyone embraces this system, we can all start to benefit from finding the ideal tenant with ease. TenantID aims to put a stop to arrears, evictions, court cases and “nightmare” problems by making sure you have the chance to check a tenant’s history before offering them the keys to your property.
TenantID’s database is designed to support those who have proven themselves to be reliable and honest tenants whilst highlighting those who have posed problems in the past. Most importantly, we aim to bring landlords, agencies and local authorities all under one roof and start networking together, for the mutual benefit of reputable lettings industry colleagues and reliable customers.
It’s a Fact
By February 2011,rent arrears in the UK were a staggering £276 million*. That Means almost 1 in every 8 tenants was either late or had not paid their rent. One landlord in London had to battle to get more than£90,000 owed by a tenant. Landlords, agencies and local authorities regularly find themselves victims of tenants who leave a property owing money and even worse, on occasions, leave a trail of
unbelievable damage – sometimes intentionally. That is why TenantID was launched, on behalf of the lettings community to give those who let properties an invaluable insight into the past behavior of a potential client.
A tenant’s
responsibility
Renting a property involves respecting and treating it responsibly. It also, by law, entails paying the landlord an agreed rent on time and abiding by the tenancy agreement. People who neglect their legal duty or the property, will be highlighted on our database so those with a property to let can know instantly if someone has a record of trouble or non-payment. A nationwide tenant database has never been more necessary, especially as tenants are becoming increasingly mobile –moving around the country much more than in the past.
We know TenantID is needed because people in the lettings industry from all over the UK have told us so. If we are to succeed, we need your input to help us build the biggest, most comprehensive database in the country and create a resource that will prove to be invaluable to anyone who lets a property.
