By February 2011,rent arrears in the UK were a staggering £276 million*. That Means almost 1 in every 8 tenants was either late or had not paid their rent. One landlord in London had to battle to get more than£90,000 owed by a tenant. Landlords, agencies and local authorities regularly find themselves victims of tenants who leave a property owing money and even worse, on occasions, leave a trail of
unbelievable damage – sometimes intentionally.That is why TenantID was launched, on behalf of the lettings community to give those who let properties an invaluable insight into the past behavior of a potential client.

A tenant’s

Renting a property involves respecting and treating it responsibly. It also, by law, entails paying the landlord an agreed rent on time and abiding by the tenancy agreement. People who neglect their legal duty or the property, will be highlighted on our database so those with a property to let can know instantly if someone has a record of trouble or non-payment. A nationwide tenant database has never been more necessary, especially as tenants are becoming increasingly mobile –moving around the country much more than in the past.

We know TenantID is needed because people in the lettings industry from all over the UK have told us so.
